About RowingWhether it's the thrill of speed or the camaraderie of shared experience, rowing is a sport with much to offer! Rowing is a great way to get fit and meet new people. Can you imagine anything more peaceful than the quiet hum of a boat gliding across the smooth water of the Canning River? Rowing is the ultimate team sport, and that team spirit can be enjoyed in both a competitive and a recreational environment.
What do I need to wear???
Will I fall out? While learning in a single scull (a boat for one person with two oars) may result in a few dunkings, it is very rare to fall out of a crew boat. For safety, all rowing participants must be able to swim at least 100m. Am I too old / short / fat?No, but you'll never ever know if you never ever row! Can I start today?Contact the club and we will find a way to get you into a boat. If you miss the Learn to Row course, we can start you off within our recreational group and give you the opportunity to make a choice about competitive rowing once you have gotten the hang of it. We look forward to your company, so come on down and take up an oar! For more information and all enquiries contact us now! |
